Install Diagnosis Outpost on Android

Download the APK and install it directly on your Android phone. File size: ~127 MB. Requires Android 6.0 (API 23) or later.

Step-by-step installation

  1. Download the APK using the button above. The file is named app-release.apk and is hosted on GitHub.
  2. Open your notification shade or open the Files app and find the downloaded APK (usually in Downloads).
  3. Tap the APK file. Android will warn you about installing apps from outside the Play Store.
  4. Allow the permission when asked:
    • If prompted with “For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source,” tap Settings.
    • Turn on Allow from this source for your browser or Files app.
    • Return to the install screen and tap Install.
  5. Tap Open when installation finishes, or open Diagnosis Outpost from your app drawer.

The exact menu labels vary slightly. Look for one of these paths:

  • Pixel / stock Android: Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps → [your browser or Files app]
  • Samsung: Settings → Biometrics and security → Install unknown apps → [your browser or Files app]
  • OnePlus / OPPO / Realme: Settings → Password & security → System security → Install unknown apps
  • Xiaomi / Redmi: Settings → Privacy protection → Special permissions → Install unknown apps

Troubleshooting

  • “App not installed”: Uninstall any older version of Diagnosis Outpost first, then try again.
  • Download blocked: Make sure your browser is allowed to download large files and that you have enough free storage (~150 MB).
  • Can’t find the file: Check the Downloads folder in your Files app.
